About

I grew up in Mooresville North Carolina, where I spent a lot of time in school sketching and creating art. In high school I took advanced art classes that helped me develop my artistic skills. Eventually my passion for art led me to study industrial design in college at North Carolina State University, where I graduated with honors in 2009.

I am very inspired by paintings done by the old masters during the renaissance. Seeing their works in museums that are hundreds of years old attracted me to oil paints. Some of the most influential artist that have had an impact on me are: Albrecht Durer, Hieronymus Bosch, Leonardo da Vinci, and M.C. Escher.

I mostly work in oil paints, but I am always exploring other mediums. I can use a lot of different tools to create images of whatever I am trying to relate visually to viewers.

I also am an experienced art instructor, and offer group classes as well as individual private lessons. I encourage anyone interested in learning how to draw or paint to do it, from my experience creating art can be one of the most advantageous endeavors that one can pursue in life, and I can help you learn how to do it well.
